Urban Arts
Each year the Festival partners with Higher Ground Learning to create the Urban Arts program, which serves to empower independent young artists and to promote the development of a young artists' network.
This year, Higher Ground Learning presents the Gallery of Urban Art – an unchoreographed and eclectic community showcase of young minds, each contributing to the movement. Their mediums consist of stenciling, rap, dance, fashion, and graffiti art. Please stop by and participate. This is something for everybody!
Urban Art
At week-long workshops before the Festival, youth learn about the traditions and techniques of hip hop culture. Then, at the Festival these "graf art" students, along with local professional artists, collaborate in graffiti demonstrations, performances, and the tagging of clothes and wares for Festival-goers.
AIGA Re:Design
AIGA, the professional association for design, will teach you how to give new life to reclaimed billboard and vinyl material. Craft a one-of-a-kind accessories like handbags, wallets, and totes by turning once giant images into cool and useful recycled art. It's fun and easy! No experience is needed to design and create your own piece! Come prepared to learn about design, layout, and color to turn the fabric into a unique piece of urban art.
Classes will be held daily throughout the Festival at 1:30, 3:00, 5:00, and 7:00 p.m.

Fashion Design School
Straight out of the gates of our weeklong fashion design school, designers will be on spot with the fruits of their labor. After a close study of color, texture and detail, they will bring their Green clothing lines to the Festival in an unprecedented exploration of fashion merchandising. Please come and support them by spending some of your green.
UpRok
Utah’s only shop dedicated to supporting the local hip hop scene, UpRok will be djing, rapping and dancing the days away throughout the Festival with Higher Ground Learning.
The Cube
Come experience an inadvertent blend of Taosim and graffiti art such as the world has never seen. The Cube will be resurrected, painted and repainted by our urban artists over the course of the Festival. Come check out our Cube in all its simplicity, and be a part of the culture that arises from the Uncarved Block.
